Certification information, fees and policies
Our certification fees for every level and domain, together with the policies that apply to applications, assessment, cancellation, rescheduling, re-sits, enquiries and appeals.
Certification policy
How certification works
- IPMA Australia is the Member Association and Certification Body responsible for the application, assessment, award and maintenance of the IPMA 4-Level Certification System in Australia.
- Certification fees must be paid in full on application.
- Applicants do not have to be an IPMA Australia member to apply for certification.
- To receive IPMA Australia certification member discounts, the applicant must join as a member before applying for certification.
- A candidate must successfully complete the assessment steps for the level within 18 months from the date of application acceptance. Otherwise the application is cancelled and a new application is required.
- Fees are fixed once the application is submitted, as long as certification is finalised within 12 months.
- Cancellation means the applicant or candidate no longer wishes to continue, fails to attend a pre-agreed assessment, or fails to complete the assessment steps in time.

As such, here is a copy of the International Certification Regulations (ICR) (Public version). It was created in 2016 against ICR4.0 and, while we are now using a revised version of ICR, it provides information on the fundamental principles and structure that we are held accountable for and validated against.

Corporate members
Corporate member assessment fees
Corporate rates apply to candidates nominated by a corporate member organisation. Corporate entitlement is confirmed by IPMA Australia before the rate is applied — it is not selected on the application form.
Recognition of prior learning
RPL&A approved fees
RPL&A rates apply only where Recognition of Prior Learning and Assessment has been formally approved by IPMA Australia.

Cancellation and rescheduling
If you cancel or need to reschedule
- Cancellation by the applicant or candidate before the interview or exam: 50% of the fee is returned.
- Rescheduling an interview or exam more than 5 working days before the agreed date and time: a fixed rescheduling fee applies.
- Rescheduling within 5 working days of the agreed date and time: the standard re-sit fee applies for the rescheduled element — see the re-sit fees below.
- Non-attendance without rescheduling is treated as a cancellation: 0% of the fee is returned.

The Stage 3 Appeal fee is refunded to the applicant or candidate where the appeal is upheld.
